MATERIALS IN CONSERVATION SURVEY

This survey aims to guide our researchers in their investigation of eco-friendly alternatives to commonly used materials in conservation that are toxic, considered pollutants, not recyclable, and/or have a high embodied energy cost. Where no green alternatives are found, our researchers will focus on finding ways of reusing, recycling, or otherwise extending the lives of the materials.

The survey was submitted to the members of the SiC Facebook page and the results can be seen in the charts below.

ENERGY SAVING CHALLENGE SURVEY

Through this survey, SiC intended to find out to what extent conservation studios are green work places, and to get the participants of the survey to think more about their own sustainable practice. Our SiC Research Committee will use the results to see where improvements can be made and find out exactly what can be done.
